FTP UNEJ Holds Socialization and Workshop on the Development of Integrity Zones (ZI) Towards a Corruption-Free Area and a Clean and Serving Bureaucratic Area

The Faculty of Agricultural Technology (FTP) of the University of Jember (UNEJ) successfully held a Socialization and Integrity Zone Development Workshop (ZI) in the Ballroom of the Fortuna Grande Hotel Jember. The activity which was held on Saturday, October 26, 2024 was attended by all ranks of the Dean, Lecturers, and Education Personnel of FTP UNEJ with the aim of increasing understanding and commitment in realizing good, clean, and transparent governance in the faculty environment.

In his speech, the Dean of FTP UNEJ, Dr. Ir. Bambang Marhaenanto, M.Eng., IPM said that the development of ZI is a strategic step of FTP UNEJ in supporting the vision of the University of Jember as a superior university. “By building ZI, we not only improve the quality of services to the community, but also strengthen the reputation of FTP UNEJ at the national and international levels,” he said.

As a resource person, Darmawan Tri Prasetya, S.E., Head of Enforcement and Investigation Section of KPPBC Type Madya Customs C Jember, provided a comprehensive understanding of the concept of Integrity Zone. He explained that ZI is a predicate given to a work unit for its commitment to realizing a Corruption-Free Area (WBK) and a Clean and Serving Bureaucratic Area (WBBM).

Meanwhile, Dr. Yusuf Adiwibowo, S.H., LL.M., who is also the Chairperson of the Integrity Zone of UNEJ Faculty of Law, explained the technical steps that need to be taken in building ZI. He emphasized the importance of support from all components of the organization in realizing ZI, starting from planning, implementation, to evaluation.

In addition to socialization, participants also attended workshops guided by both speakers. In this workshop, participants were invited to discuss and exchange ideas about efforts that can be made to build ZI in FTP UNEJ. Some of the topics discussed include identifying areas that need to be improved in public services, preparing ZI development action plans, and strengthening internal supervision and control.

The Dean of FTP expressed his hope, with the implementation of this socialization and workshop, it is hoped that the entire academic community of FTP UNEJ can play an active role in realizing ZI. ZI development is a continuous process and requires commitment and support from all parties. [es]
