HISTORY
The Faculty of Agricultural Technology is one of the faculties within the University of Jember, which currently has two Departments / Study Programs (Prodi) namely the Department / Study Program of Agricultural Products Technology (THP), Department / Study Program of Agricultural Engineering (TEP), and Study Program of Agricultural Industrial Technology (TIP) FTP University of Jember is located on Kalimantan Street number 37 Tegalboto Campus, Jember Postalcode 68121.
DEVELOPMENT HISTORY
The University of Jember is the realization of further changes from the name of Tawang Alun University which has private status to become a state university with the name Djember State University, which was established based on the Decree of the Minister of Higher Education and Science Number 151 of 1964 dated November 9, 1964. Since its inception until 1997, the field of agricultural technology at FTP University of Jember has progressed in accordance with the capabilities of the institution, which can be divided into three periods namely: Pioneering, Consolidation, and Development.
Pioneering Period (1967-1975)
The pioneering of the field of agricultural technology began with the establishment of the Agricultural Product Processing Laboratory and the Agricultural Mechanization Laboratory at the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Jember, which later became the embryo for the establishment of the Department of Agricultural Technology and Mechanization.
Consolidation Period (1976-1996)
In 1976, the Rector of Jember State University established the Department of Agricultural Technology and Mechanization as a follow-up to the development of the Agricultural Product Processing Laboratory and the Agricultural Mechanization Laboratory at the Faculty of Agriculture. Subsequently, the department changed into the Department of Agricultural Technology based on the Decree of the Minister of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia Number 561/0/1983 dated December 8, 1983. The Department of Agricultural Technology develops educational programs with two specialization fields, namely Agricultural Product Processing Technology and Agricultural Mechanization. Since 1992, the specialization of Agricultural Product Processing Technology was established as an Agricultural Product Processing Study Program based on the Decree of the Director General of Higher Education Number 513/DIKTI/KEP/1992 dated December 22, 1992. Furthermore, based on the Decree of the Director General of Higher Education Number 226/DIKTI/ KEP/1996 dated July 11, 1996, the Agricultural Product Processing Study Program was designated as the Agricultural Product Technology Study Program, while the Agricultural Mechanization Specialization became the Agricultural Engineering Study Program. Both study programs are structured under the management of the Department of Agricultural Technology, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Jember.
Development Period I (1997 - 2010)
The development period began with the establishment of the Faculty of Agricultural Technology, University of Jember, located at Jalan Slamet Riyadi No. 62 Jember, based on the Decree of the Minister of Education and Culture No. 205/O/1997 dated August 22, 1997. The Faculty of Agricultural Technology has two departments, namely the Department of Agricultural Product Technology and Agricultural Engineering, which were established based on the Decree of the Director General of Higher Education Number 85/DIKTI/KEP/1998 dated March 12, 1998. Improving the academic quality of the Faculty of Agricultural Technology is directed at the characteristics of excellence in the field of Agroindustry Technology and Management of Plantation Farming Enterprises. Then in August 1998 the Faculty of Agricultural Technology, University of Jember occupied a new building at Tegalboto Campus, Jember.
Development Period II (2011 - Now)
After the implementation of the 2004 curriculum lasted five years, in mid-2009 an evaluation and review of the implementation of the 2004 curriculum was carried out. Given the developments and demands of the times that occurred, as well as taking into account the results of the socialization of the curriculum development team of the Directorate of Learning and Student Affairs of the Directorate General of Higher Education of the Ministry of Education and Culture, the preparation of a new curriculum became an unavoidable choice. The process of preparing the new curriculum was finally completed and named the Competency-Based Curriculum of the Faculty of Agricultural Technology which was enforced starting in 2011 for new students in the 2011/2012 entry year based on the Decree of the Dean of the Faculty of Agricultural Technology Number 1259/H25.1.7/PS/2011, dated July 19, 2011 concerning the Implementation of the 2011 Curriculum of the Faculty of Agricultural Technology, University of Jember.
Along with the times, in order to improve the quality and quantity of services, the Faculty of Agricultural Technology began to develop its wings by proposing the establishment of new study programs, both undergraduate and postgraduate. In early May 2013, the Faculty of Agricultural Technology received the trust of the Ministry of Education and Culture, to organize a Strata Two (Master) study program through the Decree of the Minister of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia Number 173/E/O/2013 concerning Permission to Implement New Study Programs at the University of Jember, dated April 30, 2013. The new Master's Program was named Master's Program in Agroindustry Technology. This study program was immediately operationalized in the odd semester of the 2013/2014 academic year.
Not even one year, in September 2013, the Faculty of Agricultural Technology, University of Jember was again given the mandate to organize an undergraduate program in Agricultural Industrial Technology with the issuance of the Decree of the Minister of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia Number 446 / E / O / 2013 concerning Permission to Implement the Agricultural Industrial Technology Study Program (Bachelor) at the University of Jember in Jember, dated September 2, 2013. This study program will be operationalized in the odd semester of the 2014/2015 academic year.
In 2013, considering the need for laboratory services, the Faculty of Agricultural Technology proposed the addition of studios/laboratories that have been operated, namely the Entrepreneurship Studio under the management of the Department of Agricultural Products Technology, in order to support learning activities to foster the entrepreneurial spirit of students, so that after graduation they are able to play a role as job creators; and the Agricultural Products Engineering Laboratory managed by the Department of Agricultural Engineering in order to support practicum/research activities in the field of agricultural engineering, especially food engineering.

The mission of the Faculty of Agricultural Technology, University of Jember is:
organizing academic education with an agro-technopreneurship perspective (education, research, and community service) that supports industrial agricultural development;
develop and preserve the results of science and technology innovation creations in the field of environmentally sound agricultural technology;
empowering agribusiness communities in the application of appropriate technology in agriculture based on local wisdom;
develop a network of cooperation with stakeholders and other institutions at home and abroad.
